CONSULS is a shared library information system that operates from a dedicated computer at the Connecticut State University offices in Hartford, Connecticut.
The System was funded by the Connecticut State University in 1992 for shared use by the Central, Eastern, Southern, and Western Connecticut State University Libraries. In May of 1997, the State Library of Connecticut joined the CONSULS system. The Connecticut State Library collection includes materials on Connecticut history, government, genealogy, and a complete State and Federal Documents collection.
Currently there are over 1.4 million bibliographic records describing 2.2 million volumes held in the collections of the CONSULS member libraries.
In addition to the catalog of the four CSU libraries, and the State Library of Connecticut, CONSULS also provides access to a complete listing of U.S. and Connecticut Government documents. Many documents contain links to the full-text of these resources maintained on government websites.
